  Comments
US indices closed mixed on Wednesday. Shares in the Food & Staples Retailing (-1.99%), Real Estate (-1.81%) and Energy (-1.66%) sectors took a hit while shares in the Transportation (+0.85%), Consumer Services (+0.37%) and Banks (+0.3%) sectors gained a bit of traction. On the economic data front, MBA mortgage applications declined 6.6% in the week ended February 16th from a decline of 4.1% the week prior. In other news, Markit US manufacturing PMI increased to 55.9 in a preliminary estimate in February (estimated 55.5) from 55.5 in January. Markit US services PMI rose to 55.9 in February's preliminary estimate (forecasted 53.7) compared to 53.3 the month prior. Again, Markit US composite PMI improved 55.9 vs 53.8 in January. Existing home sales declined to 5.38M in January (estimated 5.6M) from 5.56M in December. Bloomberg Consumer Comfort index reduced to 56.6 in the week ended February 18 against 57 in the week prior. Finally, the Federal Reserve released its FOMC meeting minutes which made it clear that a March hike is a forgone conclusion with the strengthening economy and inflation gradually expected to rise to target levels. The S&P 500 (2,701.33) remains below its 20d moving average (2,737.92 - negative slope) and its 50d moving average (2,728.08- positive slope).

After Hours
Synopsys (SNPS) posted 1Q adj. EPS of $1.1 ($1 expected) from $0.94 the year prior on revenue of $769M, beating estimates of $751M, from $653M last year. The Co provided guidance on FY18 adj. EPS to the range of $3.67-$3.74 (forecasted $3.51) and expects FY18 revenue to the range of $2.92B-$2.95B. higher than $2.9B estimate.

Stericycle (SRCL) reported 4Q adj. EPS unchanged YoY at $1 (estimated $1.14) on revenue of $888M (forecasted $883M) from $906M in the previous year. The Co sees FY EPS in a range of $4.45 - $4.85, lower than expectations of $5.22, and expects FY revenue to reach $3.48B - $3.63B, missing estimates of $3.64B.

Host Hotels & Resorts (HST) reported that 4Q adjusted FFO per diluted share rose 2.4% YoY to $0.42 per share (estimated $0.39) and adjusted EBITDA grew 6.8% to $375M onrevenue of $1.34B, in line with expectations, up 0.5%. The Co forcasts FY18 FFO per share at $1.60-1.70 (estimated $1.59-1.76) and adjusted EBITDA at $547-616M (estimated $1.38-1.56B). In addition, the Co said it has agreed to buy three Hyatt assets - the Andaz Maui, the Grand Hyatt San Francisco, and the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, under contract for $1B with a $25M deposit at-risk.

Realty income (O) posted that 4Q FFO per share declined 20.8% YoY to $0.61 (estimated $0.62) on revenue of $311M, up 7.9%. Rental revenue increased 8.6% to $299M.The Co sees FY18 FFO per share at $3.11-3.19 (estimated $3.11-3.23).

ROKU (ROKU) recorded a 4Q EPS of $0.06 (estimated LPS $0.1) compared to $0.0 in the prior-year period on revenue of $188.3M (estimated $182.5M), up 28%. Average revenue per user grew 48% to $13.78. The Co sees 1Q revenue at $120-130M (estimated $127.0-136.0M) and net gross profit at $52-58M. For full year 2018, the Co expects revenue at $660-690M and losses at $55-40M.

Ansys Inc (ANSS) announced that 4Q adjusted EPS increased 9.2% YoY to $1.07 (estimated $1.03) on adjusted revenue $303.4M (estimated $290.8M), up 12%. The Co sees 1Q adjusted EPS at $0.90-1.05 (estimated $1.17) and adjusted revenue at $261.0-281.0M (estimated $267.0-283.0M). For full year 2018, the Co expects adjusted EPS at $4.41-5.04 (estimated $4.95-5.07) and adjusted revenue of $1.15-1.23B (estimated $1.15-1.22B).
