US indices closed down on Thursday, pressured by the Technology Hardware & Equipment (-1.26%), Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology & Life Sciences (-1.04%) and Capital Goods (-1.04%) sectors. On the economic data front, the Consumer Price Index declined to 0.1% on month for January, missing the expectation of 0.2%, Initial Jobless Claims rose to 205K for the week ending February 8th, below the expected rise to 210K and Continuing Claims fell to 1,698K for the week ending February 1st which was more than anticipated compared to 1759K in the prior week. On Friday, Retail Sales for January are expected to remain at 0.3%, Industrial Production for January is anticipated to slightly increase to -0.2% and the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment index February preliminary reading is expected to fall to 99.4.

Nvidia (NVDA), a leading designer of graphics processors, revealed fourth quarter adjusted EPS of 1.89 dollar, beating the forecast, up from 0.80 dollar a year ago on revenue of 3.1 billion dollars, higher than projected, up from 2.2 billion dollars last year.

Expedia (EXPE), the online travel agency, disclosed fourth quarter adjusted EPS of 1.24 dollar, above the forecast, in line with a year ago on revenue of 2.75 billion dollars, missing the estimate, up from 2.56 billion dollars in the previous year.

Roku (ROKU), the video streaming platform, posted fourth quarter LPS of 0.13 dollar, better than expected, down from an EPS of 0.05 dollar a year ago on net revenue of 411.2 million dollars, exceeding the estimate, up from 275.7 million dollars, the year before.
